Not that it is being like a really long run of update yet…but I’m working on it 😛
Alright, I’m not going to dress this up because its not worth it – I’m not going to pretend that I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for this day for however long because I havn’t. I guess its just the final part of my 6th Form College life. I’m talking about results – they came out today. OK, here we go. No more putting it off, no more saying I’ll do it and then not doing, this is actually it…I’m going to catch up. Alright, so last time I posted I was writing about my exams and I had two more to go, and I promised that I would write about what happened with my Maths exams so where better to start…
The background to the story goes back to last year and exams then. I sat Maths AS level way back then and didn’t do really well (that’s all written about in here, and is all gone now *tries not to remember*), so I decided to resit it this year, and went to my tutor, Joy, to ask her to tell the exam board not to accept my results. This was a little difficult because I had missed the time that the forms had to be back with the exams office, so I had to go across there and sort it out myself. Joy rang across and told them I would be coming and gave me the code for the door (amidst much patronising “don’t tell anyone” and “wash it off your hand when you have finished”). So I went and cancelled the results all ready for this year. Early this year, aware of the fact I needed to work on my maths, I went to see Joy to talk about some lessons and what I should do about it. She suggested that I start to come to lessons after the Easter holidays when she would be doing revision groups and that I would get the most out of them having done the course before. Guess what I mean…yes, blah, exams! Well that’s all that I have left now – General Studies, and two Physics exams. I finish on the 26th (I think it is – a week on Thursday), and then that’s it until uni (this is the plan at least, lol). I had computing today, but I’m not going to talk about it…its not worth it, however well I did will be found out in the middle of summer.
The problem with not talking about exams though is that it doesn’t leave much to talk about, because I’m not doing much else at the moment. About the most exciting thing I can talk about is the weekend…so here we go…a detailed account 😉 [read more]
Ooooh, did I do the failing to update again? Hmm, oops 😉 I have an excuse though…exams and things! Well then, if this works, here we go…
I think today might have decided the rest of my life. I had 6 hours of exams – Politics and Maths. My uni offers both take these A/S levels into account (to different extents) as well as my full A-Levels. The thing is I’m not too worried about my A-Levels (hmm, he says) because computing is alright, and Physics has got better since I had my extra private tutor…but the A/S levels have been kind of rushed, in fact, I have had no maths lessons at all this year. Anyway, I found out yesterday that I had a timetable clash with maths and politics this afternoon (long story, I will tell it some other time), so we contacted college and they arranged for me to do the politics exam this morning and the maths this afternoon and be supervised over lunch (so I didn’t go telling anyone who was doing the politics at the proper time what was on the papers). Not so much fun to say I had a day to revise the hardest paper for the hardest subject I’m doing (the Pure Maths module this is). Yep, I did go and see the film (he says almost a month after writing about going to see it). I really liked it, and I am trying to find a time to go again, but its not really on at very convenient times anymore (at least not or bargin days, lol).
Yes, I know, its been too long again, and I have been meaning to write this for about a week now, but just have never got around to it. Im making myself catch up now while I have the time to spare – I’m sitting in college trying to fill in the time I have spare from my cancelled physics lesson. I’m so glad the holidays are looming. This is the last week before two weeks off…and its about time. The scary thing about it is that after this holiday we will have just a few more weeks before the exams kick in…and I mean proper exams…like…the most important exams of my entire life :-\
It’s comforting a little to think that I could just do nothing for some of them and still pass, but I want to get into the Unis I have chosen, so I have to do well! And talking about University, I got a letter from Exeter the other day about accommodation. They have accommodation lists now, and a little posh booklet from which I need to pick where I want to live for at least one year of my life (that is if I get there…). I think I’m going to put off choosing until the holidays though, because I don’t have the time to sit and talk to people about it (my parents, Natalie) at the moment.
And on the subject of Natalie – I’m going to spend lots of time with her in the holidays hopefully (around her work, and the college things Im going to do, and the revision we both are going to do…). Umm, and that’s about all I can say about that, just that I’m going to try to be with her a lot.
And for the last week I have…umm…well done college stuff mainly – I have had to get my computing done (last minute rush, hehe). I have done it, but now have 2 nights to get the documentation done to the point that I can hand it in…blah. Friday I am having 3 hours of politics (that’s 10.30-11.30, 1-2, 3-4) which will be joyful (yeah, right), and then in the first week of the holidays I have penciled in 3 other lessons for ‘revision’ (it will be for the other 3 who are taking it, but new for me because I’m behind, apparently)…and they are in the evenings of the Monday and Tuesday, and then some other time for Wednesday (I think, can’t quite remember).
Finally, my parents are off to Malta in the second week of Easter…so I will be at home, and I have invited Natalie to come and stay with me the nights they are gone. So hopefully 🙂
And that’s it I think!
Argh, nearly a month (and I did try at one point, but it didn’t work), hmm, never mind its all been kinda the same…sooo…
Yeah, so I’m taking time out from my computing project which I am really going at now – it has to be done by the Easter holidays so I have two weeks, and an entire thing to write :-\ I will do it, hehe. [read more]
…all my exams are over! For now at least. They start again in May/June.
I did my final exam on Monday morning – it was Physics unit 4, and it was hard :-\Â But never mind, we will see how it goes, and I can always do it again in June (I don’t want to, but I can, lol).
The rest of the week has been pretty laid back (sort of mainly because I have made it laid back with choosing not to do much, lol). I have done a little college work, although I haven’t had any set, I have worked on my computing project a little, so that’s coming on. Other than that I havn’t done much. Well then, I’m in college and have just had an exam (well, I say just but that’s not quite true – it finished at 10.30 and its now 11.20, but I haven’t done anything in between. There was supposed to be a physics lesson at 10.45 so I sat outside the room waiting until about 10 to 11 when the biology teacher came out and said she hadn’t seen Duncan, so she rang through to the office to see if he was in. He isn’t – he is ill. So I wandered up to see if I could find Fiona and tell her that I didn’t want to wait about for an hour and a half until General Studies with nothing to do…I couldn’t find her at all so I was about to go when she came round the corner. I said to her that I was probably going home, but she pretty much begged me to come to the lesson, so I said I would do…and I thought I would come in here to do this to fill in the time…so here I am!). Ahhh then, what has happend since last time…lets see…
Last Wednesday I had a dentist appointment (which I know I mentioned), and I went, and it was alright – my mum rang ahead and they said there was just one form to sign and that was it. That wasn’t quite true. There was a form that I had to fill in about my education, and one about my teeth and dental history (and health in general – allergies, etc.). So I did that, but I didn’t know when I last went to the dentist (which was one of the questions), so I left it – pretended that I hadn’t seen it, and thought that it wouldn’t matter anyway…so as I sat there in the dentists chair (looking up at an areal photo he has of the town on the ceiling), and I saw him reach for the form, have a glance though it and then he asked me when I last saw a dentist. It was typical – the one thing that I didn’t know so missed off he thought was the most important thing on the form, lol. I had to admit that I didn’t know, so he must have known I missed it off on purpose (oh well…).
