It’s strange how some people are trendy for a while and are all over the place. It seems to be that the trendy idiot of the moment is Alan Carr. Given that he’s not very good, his agent must be fantastic. He really does get on my nerves — I’ve yet to identify anything with his act which isn’t just annoying. While Justin Lee Collins moved on to make some light hearted documentary type programmes, Alan seems to have just gone on to do anything he possibly could. And he doesn’t bring anything to any of them. I thought that maybe I’d be safe listening to BBC Radio 2, but no — his irritating voice popped up there too. Lets hope he’ll burn out reasonably quickly, although I guess that would just leave a gap for the next one to come along and be in everything… [read more]
It’s an unnerving experience when you are buried in your work, take a quick break, look out of the window and find yourself looking either at the ground or up into the air. Still I’m not going to complain – it’s a good thing because it means the train is managing to reach it’s top speed. On the way up north we were stuck in ‘non-tilt mode’, apparently. This time we clearly are not. I think I could make that say something about how the south views the north, but I’m sure it’s nothing to do with that. [read more]
This train’s not going anywhere very quickly. At least not long distances – we keep stopping but we’ve yet to find out why. The man on the other side just told someone he was supposed to be getting into Watford for 9pm, but I suspect we’re running late now. Of course there’s no way to tell. I’ll be ok, it doesn’t matter if this train is a little late just so long as I don’t miss the last train back from London to Aldershot, which I’d class as ‘highly unlikely’. Still a delay doesn’t help matters, and it would be nice if they were to tell us why exactly we do keep stopping. [read more]

Hmm, I had my last lolly today. They lasted longer than I thought they would actually. It was the first few days that I managed not to eat them and just look at them all lined up nicely, but then when I got stuck into them I couldn’t do anything about it, and they were gone one a night, lol.
Hmm, anyway, what did I want to talk about? Ooh, I know – the firemen. Well, they are on strike now for the second day (its a 48 hour strike, and they have had 24 hours of it (well, about 30 hours now)), and I’m not sure if I am on their side or not. Actually, I think I am sort of half and half in favour – I think they do deserve more, but I also think that what they are asking for it just a silly amount (for those who don’t know, they are wanting a 40% pay rise). The army are covering while the fire service are away on strike with their old ‘Green Goddesses’, which are quite obviously not up to the job (it looks like they are just loaded up with garden hoses…). Some people have talked about the army getting the red fire engines which are sitting not doing anything in the fire stations, but I have to admit that I don’t agree with that – it would mean crossing the picket lines, and I don’t agree with that, just on principle (still I do see a problem with public safety…difficult one, I think). Just on the same subject, I get the impression the firemen aren’t very good at keeping to their strike – I read in the paper about how they left the picket when they saw some of the Green Goddesses passing them, and went to help…part of me wonders what the point of being on strike is if they are not going to stick to it, but then again, I do see why they want to help…hmmm, oh well. And finally, on this – my prediction is that there will not be an 8 day strike in the next few weeks, but we will see…just my prediction 😉
Seeing as I was talking about the Army there a bit, I may as well mention that they were in college today trying to get people to join up. They were supposed to have paintballing on the lawn at the front of our college, but I’m not sure how well that will have gone down in the pouring rain. I didn’t stay to find out – I went to see Natalie. I rang her last night, and she wasn’t well and said she wouldn’t be in college today, so I decided that I would go and pay her a visit by surprise. I got soaked though getting there, but it was worth it I think…I got to see her, and cuddle her a bit. I hope it made her feel a bit better at least…and she was dead sweet in her dressing gown, awww poor little thing. While I’m on the subject of Natalie, she is coming here to stay over on Saturday night, which will be nice. My mum wanted to see us actually (we usually stay at her house, and my parents wanted to see us, because they like her, and like seeing us, hehe).
Well, I’m going to clean my teeth now and go to bed, ready for college tomorrow, and what will no doubt be another great physics lesson (ooh, is that boring at the moment, lol). Never mind…has to be done 🙂
Ohh, so its November now, and my birthday is in this month, hehe.
Hmmm, well, this week is over, and it was pretty un-eventful. We were only in college for 4 days because there was staff development on Wednesday, so I went to see Natalie and we spent the day together. Its going to be another four day week next week because there is a strike by lecturers on the 5th. I think I might go into college though, and just find a computer that I can do something on, so I’m not stuck at home (if I just stay in I wont end up doing any work, lol). Have to see how I feel on the day.
I think I am going to stay at Natalie’s house tomorrow night, but other than that I have no plans for the weekend…I know I need to do another politics essay for Monday, and I have more notes to write up for it as well (actually I might save that for Tuesday…), but I have a few things to do for college (oh, including the analysis of my computing project that needs to be in for mid November (groan, lol)). I have also decided on my 6th Uni as well – Hull. It looks nice, and they do a good course…and it isn’t too far away either 🙂 [read more]
I wanted to go out today, but its just been stormy all day. I suppose that we had to expect it after the nice weather that we have had, but it was the one day I wanted to go out.
Hmm, so what have I done? Not much, in fact this is going to be a pointless entry, but that’s just the way it is, lol.
I got up at about 10.15, and came on the computer, in fact with all the time I spent on it today, I have nothing to show for it at all. When the storms started I came off to stop my computer from getting fried, and I watched the Commonwealth games. It is alright to watch every so often when I’m bored, I saw some swimming, some bowls and some squash…good fun 🙂 Then I went over to the workshop and drummed a bit, just because I had nothing else to do. When I came back I was just washing my hands, when the rain suddenly came down in torrents. When it rains the back drain blocks, so I put on waterproofs and went out to clear it. Good fun. Came in, had some food, went to bed for a little sleep, then came on here. Good fun.
Hmm, so that’s me, lol. Ben and Emma are…well, I don’t know. After their split up, Ben said they were back together…but apparently Emma says they are not (that’s what Nat said she said). Today Emma was supposed to go to Ben’s, and ring him at about 1, but she didn’t, so he is confused…sooo…as I say, I don’t really care anymore, I am going to sit back and watch and enjoy myself. When they come to me all upset, I’m not going to care, I have had enough, I’m not going to be supportive, I have done that enough, and they keep pissing, about. I know it sounds awful, but I have had enough, let them be silly, and I am going to watch…and I’m not changing my mind…that’s what I am going to do!
There you go, a pointless entry.
Hmm, I’m a little annoyed, I’ll tell you why, because it might make me feel a little better…so anyway…
I know its not really a big thing, but it made me annoyed – just that, because (I imagine its because of this), I was younger than him, he thought I was totally useless, or at least incompetent in something which I have been doing at a pretty high level (if I do say so myself, lol), for years.
Let me explain. There is a university choir singing at my mum’s church on Sunday, and they arrived today so they could rehearse tomorrow. With them they brought a synthesizer to do part of their accompaniment. Now, last year, we provided a keyboard and amplification, and this year they just wanted the amplification, so I did the same setup, and sat about in case they needed help getting the synthesizer to work with it. Yey! Well, that’s all my exams out of the way, yey. I had my last one today – Physics. The first one wasn’t too bad, but the second one wasn’t good – it had a lot of nuclear physics in it, and we didn’t cover that much so I’m not too sure on it. Heh, anyway, that’s it for this year, and I can sit back for a while until the results come through! [read more]
