Hmm, well, I haven’t done much really – just been with Natalie most of the time, which has been nice 🙂
I went with her and her mum to the White Rose Centre yesterday to get her some clothes for her birthday which is on Thursday (same day as Ben’s birthday actually), and we got Ben a present for his too (actually, we only got a keyring which says ‘Heaven doesnt want me, and hell thinks I’ll take over’ but it was a start, and we thought it was quite appropriate as well). I meant to get him a card today, but I managed to forget, drat, we will have to go and get one tomorrow. Because we had to get the 10.30 bus to White Rose, we thought it would be better if I slept at Natalie’s on Saturday, so I did…or tried. I don’t sleep well in other places, and I’m not used to having a lumpy girl snuggled up to me – not that I’m saying its a bad thing, it isn’t, far from it (nor am I saying she is lumpy, shes nice and soft but you know, lumpy as in…well…there), but I’m not used to it, and I find it hard to sleep unless its dark – her curtains are thin, and yellow, and mine have blackout linings, I’m just not used to it. So I didn’t sleep very well that night. I was planning on sleeping in today, but I didn’t, mainly because I stayed at her house last night too. Her mum offered, and it did seem like a nice idea, so I did. I slept a little better, but I’m still tired. I will sleep tonight for a while I hope…sleep in tomorrow. Actually, she is staying here on Wednesday just to look after me while my parents are away for the night. I was wanting to have a nice romantic night in, but we have rehearsals for theatre festival that night now, which might spoil that a little. Never mind. Oh, then on Thursday night we are going out for a meal for her birthday, so I don’t know what will be happening there, probably come back here like we did after Emma’s party. Then on Friday I am going bowling with her family (for her birthday, lol), so I will stay there that night, and Saturday, Ben is having a party, so I guess we will be staying there that night, and if not, there here sounds like a good option, its closer.
Talking about today (I was a while back, lol), I went to get Nat’s presents. I got her this twisted silver bracelet from Samuel’s, which I like a lot, and a teddy thing that is holding its arms out wanting a hug, its really sweet. I got her a card which is ‘To Someone Special’, with Tatty Teddy from the ‘Me to You‘ collection, which I like alot as well. So thats what I got her, and I will give to her on Thursday morning.
Ah, I need to go and wrap it all, so I will be off. I know there was more I wanted to say, just I can’t be bothered to find my dictaphone which is it all recorded on.
It was fun, for the most part at least…a lot happened…
We went down on two mini buses this year (instead of the train like before, because of the costs and the awkwardness of changing and things), and its a good job we did because on the day we were traveling there was a strike on the London Underground which we would have to take for part of the journey if we did go by train. On the way there I was in Laurence’s minibus. I sat next to Ginger Emma originally, but just before we set off the person who was sat between Tracy and Lawrence in the front asked me if I would swap with her. I thought I might as well, so I sat up front with them. It was a bit of a squeeze, not much leg room where I was, but I got all the way to the services where we stopped for lunch, and then Matt swapped with me (much to the dismay of the other two in the front, lol, apparently, he was just talking constantly. To tell the truth, no one at theatre school actually likes Matthew – on the Sunday I went shopping with Lawrence, and he described him as ‘the most irritating fat bastard he has ever met’, which I think describes him well, lol). Anyway, as we got close to the place, and off the M25, we were following the other minibus, and they went the wrong way at one of the roundabouts, and we got lost. Because Matt was in the front, and had the map, everyone on our bus blamed him (it wasn’t his fault at all, because we were following the bus in front of us, but that’s not the point, lol). He got all the blame, then someone said that we didn’t get lost when I was in the front (not that I directed them at all, it was all on the motorway, following signs to London), and they started a chant of ‘Who do we want? – Jonathon, When do we want him? – On the way back!’ It was quite amusing. We got there at about 3.30 on Thursday afternoon. Well not much has happened – I haven’t done much because there hasn’t been much to do.
Natalie has been working a shift from 12.30 – 3.30 last week (Monday to Friday anyway), and is this week too, so I can’t see her in the week, and I don’t have much to do in the week…but we spent the weekend together, which was nice, very nice.
My parents went off for the weekend to this sort of relaxation weekend in the North Yorkshire moors, and so I was alone with the cat at home. Natalie first invited me to stay over at her house when her dad went out for the night on Friday, and her mum and brother were on holiday with her grandparents, but I couldn’t because of the cat, so she came here instead. It was a really nice evening. I met her from work, and we went to her house to let her get her stuff and have a quick clear round before her mum got home, then we came up here. We were going to go for a walk, but after that, and having something to eat it was quite late and we wanted to watch the final of BB3. We watched the first half of it from the snug, and then moved upstairs for the second half, and watched it in my room, all snuggled up in my bed, it was lovely. Saturday we got up really late. One of her friends rang her on her mobile, and they were talking for ages, so I thought I would potter outside and cut the top lawn while they talked, but just as I was about to start she came out. Anyway, I cut it, then we sat outside in the sun, and I gave her the present that Emma had given me to give to her for her birthday (lol, late I know, but its been in my room for ages). We sat out in the sun with the cat for most of the afternoon, and never got out for a walk like we planned…but it was nice, and I think it would have been too hot anyway.
Sunday I went to her house. It was nice weather again, and this time we did go for a walk. We went down to the school fields a little way from her house, and lay on the banking in the sun, it was nice, but we had to go because the dog was getting too hot and she didn’t have anything to drink. Still it was lovely. When we got back we had a barbecue. I don’t eat anything off them, but her mum made me an omelette which was nice, and then I had a doughnut. We also washed up in the end, after a lot of convincing Nat dried.
They have a swing-ball game, and its great fun…especially because I am actually quite good at it. I hadn’t played it before then, but I beat them all, which was very satisfying, hehe… I’m feeling it now though, I ache in my arms and my back. It made me want to play tennis again actually, but I doubt I will get chance any time soon.
Today I went into Halifax with Ben and Scott…then came home, hung the washing out for my parents, then went back to bed. I was really tired because I went to bed late last night, and then had to be up early today to go to town and meet them at the bus station for 10. Still, I did get about an hour or so this afternoon, so I’m alright now. I will get an early night tonight too, because I don’t have much to do tonight, and I think that if its nice weather I will go for a cycle somewhere tomorrow…but I think they forecast storms for tomorrow, so I will see. Wednesday I think I am going to Ben’s, so then I only have Thursday with nothing to do, before Friday, and I hope I will get to see Natalie – we are going somewhere on Saturday (to be decided), so I think one of us will be staying at the other’s house then!
I did have other things to say, just little things, but I forgot them…hmm, lets try…
Well, first off – I had my last lesson of this year on Tuesday. So I have officially finished college for the year. It seems strange that this first year is over, it still doesn’t feel like a year, it doesn’t feel anywhere near long enough, and they expect me to have done well in the exams after what seems like only a few months? Well, it’s gone, and when I get back I will be heading into the work for the A2 levels (actually, in the last 3 weeks we have started on that, but not done much really, most notable I suppose is the maths where we have got though the whole of the first sort of topic already). So, that will be fun, but I also think that I will have to resit some of the modules in January, we will see. I was talking to Kirsty on the bus on Thursday after a conference I went to (about UCAS forms, and the personal statement part. It wasn’t exactly great fun, but it was useful, and I think should help. The best bit was getting to read the example forms from other people, always a good laugh) – she has moved from our college to one in Huddersfield, and she was saying that she wasn’t happy at all about some of her exams, and I know that there was a bit of messing about with IT, so she was saying she thinks she will have to resit that at least. So that is college, just one other thing I have to comment on is the grass on the lawns at the front of college – when the grass isn’t growing fast they come along and cut it almost every-other day, but as soon as the weather is nice for growing grass, they leave it, so that when I try to cut across it to speed my way to college, I have to push though knee length grass…*sigh* [read more]
Hmm, I’m a little annoyed, I’ll tell you why, because it might make me feel a little better…so anyway…
I know its not really a big thing, but it made me annoyed – just that, because (I imagine its because of this), I was younger than him, he thought I was totally useless, or at least incompetent in something which I have been doing at a pretty high level (if I do say so myself, lol), for years.
Let me explain. There is a university choir singing at my mum’s church on Sunday, and they arrived today so they could rehearse tomorrow. With them they brought a synthesizer to do part of their accompaniment. Now, last year, we provided a keyboard and amplification, and this year they just wanted the amplification, so I did the same setup, and sat about in case they needed help getting the synthesizer to work with it. I have been meaning to write this for a while now, but I havnt got round to it, never mind, here it is –
We just got the TV working again today – the ariel had been nocked out of place by the very stong winds that hit on Friday evening. It was mad, just seemed to come from nowhere.
No warning or anything, I was just talking to my parents in the snug, when I saw that is was raining. It rains alot, so thought nothing of it (why would you). The electricicty in this house flickers on and off sometimes in the wind and rain and things, and the lights flickered a little, so I thought I would come up here and turn off my computer so I didn’t loose the work I had on it, so I came up, and was saving things and shutting it down, when the rain suddenly got really bad, and I mean really bad. As my mum said – when you looked out of the window it looked as if you were under water, with the rain driving at the house. The wind also go up, and just got worse, as I looked out of my window I could see the trees bent right over in the wind, it was really strong. I don’t know why, but I’m so tired today! I slept in for ages, and it wasn’t as if I got to bed that late (hmm, must have been about 2…), and I slept yesterday afternoon, but I’m still tired, don’t know why. Anyway, I’m going to be in bed by 12 tonight (that was the plan anyway, lol) – its back to college tomorrow, and although I don’t have any lessons until 12.45 tomorrow (because of this new 2 day timetable thing), I still have to be in at 9 for what will be, I’m sure, a total waste of time meeting. I don’t know what I will do with the rest of the time I have to spend before tutorial.
This holiday has gone too quickly. I suppose its because of the very long weekend at the beginning of the week (the Jubilee), mainly. But anyway, I can look forward to only 6 more days of college (how good does that sound, lol)…spread out over 3 weeks (slightly less good)…meaning only 17 1/4 hours of lessons left (heh, how sad is that, counting the hours 😛 ).
Yesterday I met Natalie in Halifax, and we came back here. In the afternoon we went with my mum (my dad was going to come with us, but he didnt get back from the other house soon enough), to the Halifax charity Gala. It was better than most years, but you know what that sort of thing is like, its not great. I suppose it is a nice day out of the house, and the atmosphere is good, and I got to have an ice cream (I have been after one for ages, but I havnt been able to get one because wherever I went the vans were either just dissapearing over the hill, not working, not there at all (like at the market, grr), or there when I was going past on my way somewhere else!). Anyway, I got one, lol.
The other notable thing was that I saw James. We were friends at primary school, but he changed schools (from the one I was at, to a private one, a few villages away). We didnt see each other much after that, but we did occationally. The thing is, James always wanted to be a paramedic when he was at school, and yesterday I saw him – now a memeber of St John’s Ambulance. I was really happy. Sadly he was ‘working’, so we didnt get to talk to each other, but we passed, and smiled. I think thats great 🙂
So today, I have done very little. The most notable thing being that I made some cheese scones…they are very nice, but no where near enough cheese, so I will remember that for next time.
Heh, I aught to be updating this more often now I have no excuse not to – not as if I am doing much else. So then, so far this week I have done really nothing of great importance (but you aren’t supposed to do in the holidays!).
My dad asked me to cut the grass on Monday, so I did, in the rain. The most annoying this is that it was drizzly all morning, and until about 2. At about 1.30, I decided that it wasn’t going to clear up, so went out to cut the grass (I know you aren’t supposed to cut grass in the rain, but I had to get it done!). It wasn’t too bad, the lawn mower only stalled a few time, and I managed to run out of petrol half way down, so had to trudge all the way back to the workshop to get the petrol can, and take it out to the thing, then take it back again…at least the can got a free ride on the lawn mower 😉 I watched the concert in the palace gardens on Monday too, and it was pretty good I thought, and the fireworks afterwards were very good (even on TV).
I saw Natalie on Tuesday (which was also a Bank Holiday), and got there just to find out that her dad’s car had decided to hit another one on Ovenden Way (OK, he drove into the back of them), so was being taken off for repair. That was my lift home going away on the back of a break-down lorry. Sooo, they suggested that I stayed there for the night. I rang my parents who, irritatingly, were happy to pick me up(!). They were going to the cinema though, so we (my mother and I) decided that it would be too early for them to pick me up before they went, and they wernt willing to pick me up afterwards (aww, shame 😉 ). So I stayed at Natalie’s house Tuesday night. We went for a walk down to the bottom of the nearby school fields and talked for a long time about all sorts, which I liked, and then went back and watched something that she wanted to watch about the Queen Mum and her husband. It was quite interesting.
I didn’t sleep much that night (because I was in a strange place, and her curtains are too thin, and because I’m not used to sleeping with another person there so I couldn’t get comfy and things), but I still liked it alot…ahhh, it is nice to be able to fall asleep with her in my arms then wake up with her in just the same place, I like it alot. Still, when I got home, I went to bed, and slept for another 4 hours Wednesday afternoon.
Today, I woke up at about 12 (I think it was, but I don’t know – my clock isn’t on because my dad has decided to steal the extension off me, claiming it is his (ooh, it annoys me because I know its mine, but he lost his for the stereo downstairs and so decided to take mine when I wasn’t in the house, and now claims I took it in the first place…grrr)), and decided to go out for a cycle. So I got out my dad’s bike (mine has been damaged for ages, and not got round to mending it), pumped up the tyres, and headed out towards a radio transmitter on the other hill side (had to have something to aim for, or I would have just got no where). I realised how unused to cycling I am, I was really worn out not far up the other hill side…I would never used to have been like that, but then I used to ride everyday, and I haven’t for ages recently. Anyway, when I got to the top of the hill I considered carrying on and dropping in on Natalie (I was about halfway, and the worst bit was getting up the hill), but decided not to, because I would probably just get there to find she just went out to work. Instead I turned round and came home. It took about an hour to get to the highest point, and only about 15 mins to get back, because it was all uphill…and yes, because I had to stop alot 😉
So that was the last few days. Only got 3 days more off, today (being Friday now), Saturday, and Sunday, then its back for the silly 2 day week, and ‘enrichment’ which wont happen. I think I might see if I can find something to do useful with the rest of the 3 days that I get off each week because its not like I will be able to do much else – everyone else will be back at school on a normal timetable, and Natalie is in college full time because of the course she is doing, sooo…I don’t know, have to see!
And now I want to get some tea 🙂
Yey! Well, that’s all my exams out of the way, yey. I had my last one today – Physics. The first one wasn’t too bad, but the second one wasn’t good – it had a lot of nuclear physics in it, and we didn’t cover that much so I’m not too sure on it. Heh, anyway, that’s it for this year, and I can sit back for a while until the results come through! Hmm, there isn’t much actually, with exams and all, I haven’t had much time, but there are a few things.
Emma, Ben, Tim and Scott were going to go to White Rose this weekend, and Emma asked Natalie and I if we wanted to go with them. Natalie couldn’t because of her work, so she said no. I would have liked to, but I didn’t have any money and I wanted to spend time with Natalie – I don’t get chance to see her any other time really because we bot have full time college timetables, and especially during the exams we cant get out to see each other as much as we would like (Emma irritates me a little in that way – I mean since she dropped out of college she gets to see Ben whenever he has a free period and doesn’t seem to realise that is is harder for some of us who have to work round two of us not just one, that one of us cant just run to the other when we want with no other things that have to be done), so we want to see each other when we can – so I said I wouldn’t go either.
